Welcome back to the first newsletter of 2009. First of all, I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year - I hope you all had a good break and kept the dreaded flue bug at bay. 2008 was very busy and challenging for AABW. Ayrshire hosted the ASB Annual Awards Dinner and Conference in September in a difficult economic climate, but with the support from a variety of local businesses in the form of sponsorship, AABW rose to the occasion. Well done to everyone who was involved in the organisation. Our final event of 2008, Ladies Pamper Evening was a huge success and I would like to say a very big thank you to everyone who took the opportunity to showcase their business. We achieved what we set out to do which was to enjoy a totally relaxed evening with an opportunity to shop. There was certainly much laughter at the Pilates and Belly Dancing Classes, a great atmosphere and a successful end to the year. Our first meeting for 2009, A Speed Networking Evening, takes place on the 20 January at the Gailes Hotel and Restaurant. I hope you will all be able to attend and please feel free to bring along any visitors, the more the merrier. Iwould like to reming everyone about the survey which was e mailed to members. Some of you have responded but we would like to get everyone’s input to ensure that the AABW is fulfilling the needs and expectations of our members. Your opinions matter. I would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that membership renewals are due and forms will be issued shortly. Payments can be made through the AABW website or at the January meeting. Please remember that membership must be renewed to allow you to vote at the Annual General Meeting in February. On behalf of the committee, I would like to thank you for your continued support throughout 2008 and look forward to a successful 2009. Best Wishes Lorna Alexander
