Dear Members

As you know AABW were the hosts of the annual Association of Scottish Business Women Awards Dinner & Conference.  The event was a great success and I hope those members who attended enjoyed themselves.

I firstly would like to congratulate Sandra Paterson, who although she did not win the Scottish award for Most Enterprising Business 2008, she was a very worthy winner of the Ayrshire Most Enterprising Business Award.

Lorna Dempsey who organises the Ayrshire Butterfly Events on behalf of Cancer Research was the winner of the Scottish Woman of Achievement 2008.  Lorna not only holds down a full time job but works tirelessly to make sure these events are successful and so far has raised in excess of £40,000.  Lorna is an inspiration to everyone and this award is very much deserved.

I have so many people to say thank you to for their kind Sponsorship of the event and attached you will find a list of these sponsors.

Finally, none of this would have been possible without the hard work of our committee and sub- committee so a huge thank you must go to Marilyn, Liz, Margaret, Karen, Jo, Jill and Gill.

In September 2008, the AABW hosted the annual Association of Scottish Businesswomen (ASB) Awards Dinner and Conference.  The Woman of Achievement award winner was Lorna Dempsey, who runs Butterfly Events which is a local fundraiser in aid of Cancer Reasearch UK.  Lorna is second from ther right, with Lorna Alexander, our Chair, second from the left.
