Taking on a range of different personna, Amy McDonald of Creative Training Unlimited entertained members and guests and provided us with invaluable tips on how to develop the important skill of networking.  Calum McPhail (Business Engagement Development Officer with SAC) talked us through the Collaborate for Growth Fund and the opportunities available.  A wonderful start to another exciting year of events at AABW.

Students from St Matthews, Grange Academy and Kilmarnock College, Graham Short (EA) and Carol Kirk (NA) Directors of Education, along with a large turnout of members and guests attended this event at the Gailes Hotel on Tuesday 25 October 2011.  Pre-dinner presentation was given by Mark Laird of Laird Smarthomes (the event sponsors).  Craig Johnston of Giglets was the after-dinner speaker talking about the inception and growth of his e-book business.  The enthusiastic audience asked many questions of this young entrepreneur.  Craig stressed the importance of Social Media to the growth of Giglets.  A wonderful evening.

Well what a wonderful evening, starting with a real buzz in the lounge at The Gailes Hotel, it’s been a few months since most of the members were together after the summer holidays, and room was filled with chat and laughter, we were delighted to have several new members and a few guests along

AABW tonight visited the new Burns Centre in Alloway.  After a delightful meal - stovies proved very popular - we toured the new museum.  Exhibits were most entertaining and thought-provoking including Burns being compared to some of the greats from the 20th Century.  We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.   The Ayrshire Fiddle Orchestra played throughout the evening to an appreciative audience.
